I'm back in Vancouver after a couple months of house sitting and recording on the Sunshine Coast. I'm ecstatic to be home regardless of feeling claustrophobic residing in a 400 Sq Ft suite divided by 2. Now that spring has sprung, I have big plans to expand my living room into the outdoors and sail the windy days away with my guitar. I'm taking some space from the recordings I've done so I can listen with fresh ears and hear myself not as myself. Ya know?

On a green note, I encourage everyone who reads this to sign up for Earth Hour. Join myself along with millions of Canadians and turn your lights off on March 28 at 8:30pm in support of action on climate change. Turning off lights for an hour won't stop climate change but it does demonstrate that small individual actions can add up to big change. In December 2009, world leaders will meet in Copenhagen to establish an international agreement for controlling greenhouse gases. Earth Hour is about sending them a message that we want to see action. Sign up!

Jan. 22/09 Hallelujah! I'm proud to tell you my first co-write unexpectedly took place in the wee hours of last night. My dear sweet honeybee friend, David Altic, emailed me his latest heart touching poem entitled, 'Every Time It Rains' and instantly I felt the song in it. One last verse was needed so I strummed my guitar into the phone and we played with words until we got it. It turned out to be a really REALLY neat song.

Jan. 14/09 The next update is coming to you via Gibsons, British Columbia, where tunes will be in the making from Jan. 19th to April 4th.

Jan. 7/09... JL is obsessed with learning a new recording software program called Logic 8, and has been stalking ‘Vern’ at the Mac Store for answers.  He must be familiar with the stalker type because he now directs her to downloadable tutorials and online forums without batting an eye.   Although she has been stalking him without a disguise, he looks blankly at her every time and proceeds to show her all the same tutorials.  Exhausted after watching re-runs of these tutorials and occasionally flipping through the user manuals, the excitement of recording is really starting to build.
Since JL’s discography consists merely of the late ‘Snow is Falling’ Christmas single, a 2005 released folk album, and a bunch of home demos that have been noted to sound as if recorded at the bottom of a well, it is time to hear more of JL and finally you will!

Dec. 28/08... In the early new year, Jennifer is making Sunshine Coast in BC, her temporary home and creative space until April 2009.
